    ABOUT WILL

Will designed album covers for This Is Spinal Tap, painted the opening sequence for the Nickelodeon hit Avatar: The Last Airbender, and worked at Disney Feature Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, and Warner Bros. Pictures, among other major studios.

Today, Will is an artist and an educator, leading popular workshops on drawing, composition, and visual storytelling. His book, Inventive Drawing: Adventures in Drawing and Composition, is available now. He teaches online with Drawing America and in person at Beaux-Arts & Entertainment in Paris, among other venues.

He's taught at ArtCenter College of Design and led professional workshops for DreamWorks, the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, the Society of Illustrators, and the Animation Guild. Internationally, he’s taught artists at Beaux-Arts, TegneskoleKBH in Copenhagen, Brown Bag Films in Dublin, Flatland Agency in Rotterdam, Carbon Black Academy in Graz, and Design AB in Stockholm.

Will’s experience as a layout artist, background painter, and visual development artist shapes the way he teaches. He breaks down complex visual ideas into clear, approachable lessons, combining industry insight with a deep understanding of how artists learn. Whether working with beginners or seasoned professionals, he meets students where they are and helps them become stronger visual storytellers.

Many students say they improve more in a short time studying with Will than they did in years of formal training. They leave not just with stronger skills, but with a deeper understanding of how to communicate their ideas.
